The Action Sports Legend, and Nitro Circus Co-Founder, Joins An Illustrious List of Recipients Including Usher, Michael Bloomberg and Tony Hawk
LOS ANGELES – Friday, April 14, 2017 – Travis Pastrana was honored with the presitigous Icon Award at the PTTOW! Summit in Rancho Palos Verdes, California this Wednesday.
The event, an annual gathering of top CEO’s and CMO’s as well as influential voices in technology, the arts and sports, featured attendees Declan Moore (CEO, National Geographic Partners), Marcus Shingles (CEO, XPRIZE), Rafi Fine (Co-Founder, Fine Brothers Entertainment), Deepak Chopra, MD (author, founder of Chopra Foundation), Steve Aoki (Grammy-nominated DJ/producer and CEO) and more.

After an introduction by Terry Hardy (World Surf League co-owner and PTTOW! co-founder), Pastrana spoke of the passion that has fueled his career, first as a trailblazing action sports athlete, then as a multimedia star and industry pioneer. That same passion inspired him to co-found Nitro Circus, which grew into a global television phenomenon and then mushroomed into a sold-out live tour and digital media force. Later, it helped spearhead the creation of the Nitro World Games, taking action sports competiton to the next level. “If you follow your heart and do what you’re passionate about you’ll be successful,” he said. Grammy Award-winning, multiplatinum musician Usher also received an Icon Award Wednesday. A short list of previous honorees includes His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Quincy Jones, Sarah Jessica Parker, Shaun White and Bob Pittman, illustrating the diversity and impact of these influential figures.
