Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, collaborates with Los Angeles-based design team DABSMYLA to produce a footwear and apparel collection with artwork featuring original characters and found objects inspired by their larger than life art. Known for combining rambunctious characters and everyday objects, the artist duo is inspired by graffiti, bold color schemes, mid-century illustration, and the daily quirks of their life as a couple. Together, DABSMYLA utilizes their collaborative artist process to create a collection available exclusively for women.
Channeling their intrinsically vibrant approach to art, DABSMYLA created a graphic print to outfit three women’s Classic footwear styles. The Sk8-Hi Slim features a peeking fox alongside a broken matchstick and apple core to create a unique print that exemplifies the artist duos theory of combining found elements to create something that is uniquely their own. This same print can be found across the Authentic and Classic Slip-On.
DABSMYLA also imbued parts of their custom print to create a women’s apparel and accessories collection. Find their kitschy art and designs on wearable pieces including a raglan style t-shirt hoodie and tee dress with accessories including a backpack, trucker hat and canoodle socks.
