The Wheels and Waves Festival is once again uniting the riders of machine and foam from around the world. This year ‘The Wheels and Waves Invitational by TCSS’ will celebrate traditional surfing held on the shore of Plage de la Milady, Biarritz France 8-12 of June, 2016.
A TCSS crew made up of Thomas Bexon & Eden Saul will head across to surf & shape at the five day event. Many more local and international surfers and shapers will be announced within the coming weeks.
‘The Wheels and Waves Invitational’ will celebrate the traditional style of log riding. Surfers will be judged based off numerous elements on the wave including bottom turn, nose rides, direction changes, jive and style in no particular order or weight, just for fun.
The event will embrace the world’s finest alongside Europe’s most stylish. The beach will be a hive of activity with Expression Sessions featuring timber belly boards and traditional fish surfboards, surfboard displays, beach bar, motorbikes, music and good vibes all day.
TCSS ‘The Critical Slide Society’ have a built a significant presence within the ‘alternative’ surf scene both through Europe, Japan, USA and at their home in Australia. The TCSS team will be travelling direct from the Greenroom Surf, Art & Music festival in Japan that attracts over 60,000 people to head up and run the event in Biarritz. Sam Coombes, Founder of TCSS says ‘We’re looking forward to getting salty alongside our friends at Wheels & Waves. We’re keen to build this event into a global tent pole that showcases an alternative approach to surf, one that celebrates the stoke of being in the water.’
