The College Skateboarding Educational Foundation (CSEF), the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization behind scholarships for skateboarders, is now accepting applications.
CSEF provides college scholarships to skateboarders that have good grades, a financial need, and heavy involvement with their respective communities. After launching just last year on November 7th, CSEF received 250 applications in their first year and awarded seven scholarships to students in seven different states, including two female student skaters.
Co-chairman of the Board of CSEF, Thomas Barker, shares why he looks forward to the second wave of applicants, “I was so inspired by the skateboarders that applied for our first round of scholarships, their dedication to not just skateboarding but to making the world a better place is exactly why we started CSEF. I cannot wait to see the remarkable individuals that apply this time around.”
Executive Director of CSEF, Keegan Guizard, appreciates the outpouring of support seen in the first round of applications, “We received a large amount of solid applications right from the start, so we’re really excited to watch how much word has spread and see how many quality applications we see this time. We plan to continue growing for decades, so being in the beginning of this movement feels truly special.”
Students of all ages are encouraged to apply for the scholarship, as long as they meet the criteria. Students can apply for the scholarship at collegeskateboarding.com/scholarships
To be able to award even more scholarships, CSEF requires more donors showing support for the cause. Donations (which are tax-deductible) can be made to CSEF at collegeskateboarding.com/give
