Dakine is excited and honored to announce its seasonal collaboration with women’s surf icon, Kassia Meador, in the California-inspired Dakine X Kassia Collection of eco-conscious, style- driven travel surf packs, bags, and apparel.
Crowned the “Queen of Noseriding” by the New York Times, Kassia is celebrated for her surf style and conscious creative approach in all she touched throughout her 17-year career as a professional athlete. Revered for her strong feminine voice in design and surf culture, Kassia launched her own brand of “low-impact, high-vibe” women’s specific wetsuits with cutting edge psychedelic prints after retiring from professional surfing in 2013. Her chill vibrations and free spirited nature are reflected in the KASSIA+SURF collection designed for women, by women to promote freedom, empowerment and enlightenment on and off the water.
In her collaboration with Dakine, Kassia’s creative eye and mindset are on display with each product and detail chosen. Each piece is created with a multi-tiered purpose – designed not only for the ease and needs of the world traveler but also with thoughtful attention on the footprint of our beloved earth; trusted durability on all of life’s adventures with the least impact possible.
“I’m really excited to work with Dakine because they have an integral foot grounded in who they are since day one. Deep rooted in surf and all the sports I love, they have always made top-notch products that really stand the test of time, including the board bags I’ve traveled with all around the world. I couldn’t be happier about collaborating on a collection of quality products with quality people,“ said Meador.
The Dakine X Kassia Collection features travel bags and packs constructed from 600D bluesign® approved recycled materials in a vibrant 70’s inspired tie-dye print, and holds Dakine’s signature stamp of quality and long- lasting durability as seen in the Noserider Daylight Surfboard Bag (MSRP $130-$145 depending on length) for adventurous surf travelers, Cyclone Wet/Dry 32L Pack (MSRP $130) designed for beach missions and the Infinity 21L Pack (MSRP $100) or Rad Hip Pack (MSRP 22) for everyday carry.
Recycled polyesters with built-in UPF 50+ protection are also incorporated into the assortment in women’s sun apparel, shown in the Women’s Flow Loose Fit L/S shirt (MSRP $41) and Persuasive Surf Leggings (MSRP $55). The collection also includes co- created lifestyle apparel and accessories featuring Kassia’s artwork.
