Florence Marine X, an outdoor apparel company co-founded by 2X World Champion surfer & Olympian John John Florence, announced today that it has named Joel Centeio as GM, Hawaii.
“Joel is one of the most respected people in the surfing world, and more importantly, just a great human being.” said Jeff Hurley, CEO, Kandui Holdings, LLC. “I couldn’t be more stoked to have him leading the charge for us in Hawai’i.”
Joel comes to Florence from Hurley, where he had a storied career spanning 23 years. Beginning as a professional surfer and ambassador for the brand, Joel went on to become the Marketing Manager for Hawaii and eventually Sales Manager overseeing the Hawaiian market.
“I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to join forces with JJF and the Florence Team. I love the brand vision and look forward to bringing my passion to the table,” said Joel. “It’s going to be a fun journey and I’m psyched to get after it!”

In his new role, Joel will be overseeing business and marketing in Hawaii, as well as Tahiti and Guam. He’ll begin immediately and will be based out of the North Shore of O’ahu.
