GOT BAG Appoints New Head of Sales & Growth for North America

Jay Sheldon brings more than 15 years of outdoor industry sales experience.

GOT BAG, an eco-friendly, outdoor & lifestyle travel brand that has developed the world’s first backpacks made of ocean plastic, appoints Jay Sheldon as the new Head of Sales & Growth for North America.

Jay brings 16 years of surf, snow, skate, and outdoor industry sales experience to the role. He has worked for brands like Globe, an Australian footwear, clothing, and skateboard hardgoods company, and most recently for HippyTree, a surf and outdoor apparel company.

Jay was originally contacted to be a sales representative for the Southern California area. He consulted for the company for six months and came on board full-time on September 1, 2022, in this new role.

As the Head of Sales & Growth for North America, Jay will be based in California and will spearhead new initiatives, plans, and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals. As fashion retailers look to expand their sustainable offerings in response to immense growth in customer demand, GOT BAG is well positioned to continue its growth in the retail segment. When the company launched in the US in October 2020, it was entirely an eCommerce business with 99% online sales. The brand started expanding into retail in August 2021 and saw huge success with month-over-month growth rates of 20-30%.
