GRLSWIRL, the inclusive, women-founded, global skate community based in Los Angeles, has announced details for Swirl Fest 2023 which will take place on August 5, 2023 in Venice, CA on Windward Avenue. The second-annual event, in partnership with Cariuma and Carver, will feature an exciting day of Surf and SurfSkate competitions with legendary judges and prizes, ending with the world premiere screening of the GIRLSWIRL x Carver documentary and 70s-themed dance party under the iconic Venice sign.

SCHEDULE – August 5, 2023
GROUP PADDLE OUT with Textured Waves (8AM – 11AM)
Start your day with a Paddle Out with GRLSWIRL & Textured Waves. All levels and ages are welcome! Coffee will be served, and there will be plenty of prizes, including wetsuits and boards. To participate, you must RSVP and pay a $7 fee. RSVP HERE.
SURFSKATE COMPETITION (3PM – 7PM)
Compete against fellow surfers and skaters at a custom course built by Carver. All levels and people are welcome. There will be separate prizes for kids and adults, with categories like World’s Okayest, Rippingest, and more. RSVP – Compete HERE, Watch HERE
GRLSWIRL x CARVER DOCUMENTARY SCREENING & PARTY (8:30PM – 10PM)
Join us for the world premiere screening of the GRLSWIRL Carver Documentary. Following the screening, enjoy a live concert featuring a band playing amazing danceable 70s music. GRLSWIRL parties are renowned for real community vibes, so come ready to celebrate, dance, skate, and party like it’s 1969! Tickets HERE

Founded in 2018 by nine local Venice women, GRLSWIRL is on a mission to unify people globally by cultivating authentic community through skateboarding.
