Previously only available in limited-edition runs and at the flagship Helinox Creative Centers in Korea and Japan, TERG is now fully integrated into the growing range of Helinox products and available worldwide.
TERG stands for the Trial and Error Research Group, Helinox designers and engineers who are constantly creating and iterating. This innovation lab approach, and the TERG name, were designed to create a sense of freedom and focus on pushing the limits with design, materials, and style. Through trial and error, Helinox TERG distills the best designs into bags and packs made for the global creative, and conveys Helinox’s outdoor engineering experience into carry packs for the daily rhythm of urban environments. Nine out of 10 TERG designs never reach production.
At the core, TERG draws inspiration from city life, fashion and travel and integrates heritage materials including Italian and U.S. leathers, Japanese salvage denim, and organic cottons, as well as advanced technical fabrics. As with the premium furniture and accessories for which Helinox is known, TERG bags and packs have subtle, minimalist silhouettes that belie the deep thinking, design and creativity behind them. The original TERG Daypack emerged not from a top‑down plan but from Helinox CEO Young Lah’s own travel needs – a pack with thick Cordura fabric, leather accents, quick access, organized pockets and airport‑ready functionality.
“TERG provides a canvas for the Helinox team to blend a variety of styles and our inspirations, from high-fashion bags to streetwear, and meld classic materials with the latest tech fabrics and details,” said Lah. “TERG has been a passion project for me personally for many years – I started talking about it back in the early 2010’s and led the design of the Daypack, which I wanted for my own travel needs. The Daypack took 15 trials and four major revamp stages. That’s what TERG has been about, and introducing it globally is an absolute honor.”
The Helinox TERG collection launches with a range of styles including the All Way Square Backpack; four daypacks: Daypack V2, Teardrop, 3-Way, and The Other Day; the Laptop Cross Bag; Pack No.5 Briefcase, Laundry Shoulder Bag, Waist Bag, and L-Pouch S. Each Helinox TERG product comes with Helinox’s standard 5-year warranty.

The All Way Square Backpack is built with enduring craftsmanship and innovative carry and access design. The top grab handle, removable shoulder straps, zip-top opening with two large compartments offer versatility and are ideal for EDC and travel. The V2 is a versatile daypack built with ultra-durable materials originally developed for WWII airborne troop jackets. Abrasion and water-resistant, the versatile design make it ideal for daily commutes, weekend adventures, or travel. Multiple access points and clever compartments, including a large separate bottom pocket for shoes or gear, keep everything in its place. A lightweight internal frame adds stability without bulk, while waterproof YKK zippers and performance coatings protect against the elements. $140

The Laundry Shoulder Bag is a crossbody bag with a large interior compartment and ample storage capacity.
