HippyTree is excited to be putting on our 3rd annual #52weeksofnature photography exhibit this Saturday, January 25th in El Segundo, CA.
The #52weeksofnature photo contest started as a simple idea of people sharing and tagging their nature inspired photography on Instagram using the hashtag #52weeksofnature. This has evolved into a movement with over 100,000 photos submitted to our contest to date. Supporting photographers big and small has been one of our goals since starting HippyTree and we are honored to reach this amazing milestone.
Every week HippyTree selects four finalists from thousands of submissions and posts them to a voting page on hippytree.com. From there it is up to the public to vote on and decide the weekly winner. The winning photograph and an interview highlighting the photographer is then shared on our website and social media channels.
On Saturday, HippyTree will be displaying every winning image from our 2019 #52weeksofnature photo contest, as well as handing out a variety of awards. One of the top awards, the “Pro’s Choice”, will be voted on by a panel of professional photographers HippyTree collaborates with including Chris Burkard, Travis Burke, John Barton, Mark McInnis, Ken Etzel and Jeremy Koreski. The “People’s Choice” award is decided by the general public who is welcome to vote for their favorite photo online at https://woobox.com/vc8qy6.
The photo exhibit and reception is 7-10 p.m., Saturday, January 25th at Unita Gallery, 215 Arena St., El Segundo, CA 90245. Drinks, tacos, amazing photography and good times will be provided. This event is free to attend and open to the public of all ages.
