HUF Releases New Capsule Collection

The collection celebrates the life of Harold Hunter.
Published: May 30, 2019 Press Release

HUF once again joins forces with the Harold Hunter Foundation (HHF) to produce a small capsule featuring iconic photos and artwork celebrating the Harold legacy. Stand out pieces from the collection are comprised of a hoodie and tee in a subdued tie-dye color palette sporting archived Harold photos and bold graffiti style artwork reading “RIP HAROLD HUNTER” and “LEGENDS NEVER DIE”.

Born in 1974, Harold quickly became a prominent figure in the NYC skate scene, traveling the world with the Zoo York team, appearing in TV shows, and starring in films such as the cult classic KIDS. Both natives to the city, Harold and Keith Hufnagel became friends in the 1980s, skating historic NYC spots such as the Brooklyn Banks, Washington Square, and Astor Place up until Harold’s untimely passing in 2006.

As part of Harold Hunter Weekend in NYC, the HUF skate team will also be hosting a demo at ‘12th & A’ in the East Village on Saturday, June 1 from 6pm-8pm.

Available in limited quantities, the collection retails from $16-70 and is set to release May 30th exclusively through HUF’s flagship stores and online shop. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the foundation to benefit at-risk inner city youth.

About HUF

Founded in 2002 by professional skateboarder Keith Hufnagel, HUF is a Los Angeles based manufacturer of premium footwear and apparel designed for contemporary skate and lifestyle. Inspired by Keith’s unique experiences traveling the globe as a skateboarder—and represented by a world-renowned skate team & group of ambassadors—the clean, classic brand aesthetic of HUF embodies a diverse array of cultural inspirations and ideas.

What started as a small boutique on an offbeat block of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District has now become one of the most recognized pioneering skateboard and lifestyle brands worldwide. Made by skateboarders, for skateboarders, HUF represents not only a more refined and forward-thinking skateboard brand, but also any individual inspired by the vast array of countercultures that parallel skateboard mentality.

About the Harold Hunter Foundation

Formed in Harold’s memory in 2007, the Harold Hunter Foundation (HHF) is a non-profit, grassroots, skateboard community-based organization that provides support, opportunity, and advocacy for skateboarders in NYC and beyond, so they can reach their full potential as skateboarders and as people. Our goal is to harness the power of skateboarding to transform lives.
