This season, HUF partners with heritage American sportswear label, Starter, on an apparel collection celebrating 90s-era skate and street cultures.
Founded in 1971, Starter helped popularize athletic gear within mainstream and alternative fashion, and by the 90s was an established staple among the skateboarding, hip hop, and street culture communities.
In tribute to both brands’ roots, HUF adds the Dirtbag Crew touch to throwback Starter silhouettes for a collaboration fusing 90s nostalgia with contemporary innovation. Highlight pieces include Starter’s iconic Satin Jacket featuring a two-tone color-blocked construction and custom patches, a Breakaway Anorak Jacket, and a co-branded tracksuit, while retro-inspired baseball jerseys, hoodies, and long & short-sleeve tees round out the capsule.
A lookbook shot in Los Angeles features Young Dirty Bastard—son of legendary Wu-Tang Clan founding member Ol’ Dirty Bastard—as homage to the legacy of 90s hip hop.
The HUF x Starter Collaboration retails from $34-$200 and will available at HUF’s flagship stores, online shop, and at finer retailers worldwide on January 3rd, 2019.
