As part of its ethos to support and give back to the run specialty community, Jogology® announces Michael Rivarde of Red Rock Running Company, as the 2025 Future Leader of the Year. The award was presented on December 4 during the Future Leaders of Specialty Retail gathering at The Running Event 2025 in San Antonio, Texas.
Created in partnership with The Running Event, Jogology’s Future Leader of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has been a driving force in the run specialty industry – championing innovation and leadership. The Future Leader Award celebrates a person who not only excels in their role, but also someone who inspires and mentors others, driving positive change and shaping the future of run specialty retail.
Rivarde has been with Red Rock Running company for nearly four years, and he is the store manager of its Northwest location. During his tenure at RRRC, Michael has become an incredible asset to the team, embodying inclusivity as a “party pace” and “sexy pace” runner while still pursuing ambitious goals. Rivarde has grown as a runner, progressing from 5Ks to marathons, and he has played a key role in developing the running community in Las Vegas. He has dedicated countless hours to establishing a Black Men Run Las Vegas chapter, which was recently officially recognized and of which he is the captain.
“Michael deserves this award for his initiative and impact not only through his work at Red Rock Running Company, but also also through his tremendous influence on his local running community,” said Tanya Pictor, co-founder of Jogology. “And what’s most exciting is that Michael is just getting started. He embodies Jogology’s core brand values by inspiring and mentoring others and we are so excited to present him with this year’s Future Leader Award.”
Partnering with and supporting organizations within the running community is a key pillar of the Jogology brand. “My passion for running began as a simple dare to run a mile, which quickly evolved into a love of distance running that has led me to marathons and ultimately to my current position at Red Rock Running Company,” Michael Rivarde said. “I now work to bring people together by organizing events and uniting the missions of Black Men Run and Red Rock Running Company to strengthen the local running community.”
As the recipient of the Future Leader of the Year Award and to support the Future Leaders initiative and Rivarde’s ongoing growth, Jogology presented a $4,000 cash prize along with $1,000 in Jogology product for Rivarde’s store, which can be used for education, personal development, or community improvement.
