Kahtoola Launches New Waterproof Gaiters for Fall 2026

The new gaiters have improved fit, coverage and comfort designed for trail running, hiking, and backpacking.
Published: November 18, 2025 Press Release

Kahtoola, the market leader in flexible footwear traction designed to make people more capable outdoors, announces the launch of its redesigned waterproof gaiter collection for fall 2026. Built to seal out snow, mud, and trail debris, the new collection delivers lightweight, durable protection in diverse conditions—whether moving fast on the trail, hiking all day, or questing deep into the backcountry.

Inspired by years of field tester and customer feedback, the redesign introduces a refined fit, smarter sizing, and easier adjustment for improved coverage and comfort across a wide range of activities.

  • Improved Fit: Refined patterning and new strap routing create a better seal where it counts, helping keep snow, mud, and grit out.
  • Easier Adjustment: The updated DuraLink® instep strap now offers twice the range of adjustment and is easier to operate with gloves or cold hands. It’s paired with an improved Aegis® Rock Guard for added durability at critical connection points.
  • Smarter Sizing: Full-height models are now taller with calf-based sizing to provide a more secure hold and a better fit for a wider range of users.

All gaiters feature a dependable lace hook for secure attachment, a 1-year limited warranty, and a 1,000-mile warranty on the DuraLink® instep strap.

“This redesign is the result of listening closely to the people who rely on our gear in all kinds of conditions,” said Chris Bunch, Head of Research and Development at Kahtoola. “We focused on refining the details that matter most so every gaiter feels more intuitive and performs better in the field. It’s a simpler, more durable system built for the real world.”

New for Fall 2026 is the TERRAgaiter™ (MSRP $69.95), a lightweight, waterproof, full-height gaiter designed for all-season hikes and backpacking trips. Built from durable, abrasion-resistant 210D ripstop nylon with a PU waterproof and windproof coating, it features a YKK VISLON® zipper and an adjustable webbing drawcord at the top cuff for a snug fit.

The completely redesigned LEVAgaiter® GTX (MSRP $84.95) is a minimal, packable, mid-height gaiter made with a bluesign® approved, dual-material construction. Ideal for fast-moving hikes and trail runs, it delivers lightweight, breathable protection that keeps pace with dynamic movement. A three-layer GORE-TEX upper features a 100% recycled polyester face fabric, PFAS-free ePE membrane, and C0 DWR treatment, while a 210D ripstop nylon lower enhances protection in rugged terrain. A reengineered 3D performance fit along with a YKK VISLON® AquaGuard® zipper, and elastic drawcord offer breathable comfort and secure coverage.

Rounding out the collection, the full-height NAVAgaiter® GTX (MSRP $99.95) delivers maximum waterproof protection for the harshest conditions. Expedition-ready, it features a three-layer GORE-TEX upper with 100% recycled polyester, PFAS-free ePE membrane, and C0 DWR treatment, paired with a PU-coated 1000D ballistic nylon lower for rugged durability. A YKK VISLON® AquaGuard® zipper, adjustable webbing drawcord, and refined 3D performance fit provide all-day comfort and dependable coverage in snow, mud, and mixed terrain.
