Melin Teams Up with IKONICK to Celebrate 10 Years

melin is proud to announce the release of their limited-edition white label DECADE Collection in collaboration with IKONICK. The collection, which features 3 styles, was crafted in partnership with two of the original founding team members at melin, both of whom departed to co-found the extremely successful motivational art-canvas brand, IKONICK. 

‘We wanted to reach back into our roots as a part of the way to celebrate this awesome milestone. To me, this was an opportunity to partner back up with some of our original team members who really helped create the initial strategy and products at our inception.’ said Brian McDonell, co-Founder of melin, ‘Mark and Jeff were two of the difference making original team members here and have gone on to create something very special at IKONICK. I have their motivational canvas prints all over my home and love what they do to this day. The DECADE Collection features two distinctive styles, The Bar and The Ace. Each are crafted using only the highest quality materials – Spanish Lamb Nappa Leather and Italian Tuxedo Wool, while additionally sourcing from the highest quality linen and silk mill, Solbiati out of Busto Arsizio. Each hat comes complete with a custom certificate of authenticity, white label luxury display case and integrates the Roman numeral X as an ode to their ten-year anniversary in the gold and enamel logos. ‘This is a special moment for all of us. Brian, Corey, Jeff and myself worked tirelessly to lay the foundation at melin,’ said Mark Mastrandrea, co-Founder of IKONICK, ‘when they reached out to Jeff and I to collaborate on their DECADE Collection, we jumped at the opportunity.’

‘I wanted to create something special and personal to celebrate this milestone with the original team while also tell a story that appealed to the masses,’’ said Jeff Cole, artist and co-Founder of IKONICK, ‘with my history of being an initial team member at melin, I wanted to speak to the highs and lows of being an employee, team member and entrepreneur. I drew inspiration from one of our best-selling series of canvas prints, the Empire Series, which showcases ten principles of hard work through hieroglyphic stories and brought those stories to life in the interior lining of the collection.’

The DECADE Collection pays respect to melin’s original, luxury products designed ten years ago with a modern twist to not only feature the world’s most premium materials but also tell a story to inspire. 

The Bar, sold at $300, is featured in melin’s Horizon Fit, also found in the Trenches style. A complementary shape for wider faces and people who generally enjoy a deeper fitting or modified flat visor. The horizontal front seam makes for a very comfortable hat and naturally follows the shape of the human head. Additional features include:

  • Limited to 300 units of White and Black
  • Crafted with Spanish Lamb Nappa Leather and Italian Tuxedo Wool
  • Roman numeral X honoring the Decade inlayed into the front gold and enamel bar
  • Custom interior lining artwork by @cole

The Ace, sold at $250, is featured in melin’s Vintage Fit, also found in the A-Game. This is the best-selling shape that features a narrow curved visor for a modern, progressive look. Additional features include:

  • Limited to 300 units of Black
  • Materials sourced from the highest quality linen and silk mill, Solbiati out of Busto Arsizio
  • Roman numeral X honoring the Decade inset in the melin ‘M’ icon
  • Custom interior lining artwork by @cole
  • Complete with a certificate of authenticity and white label luxury display case
