A man of many talents, Eli is well-known as a big-wave surfer and waterman while also being a skilled fisherman, stuntman and lifelong martial artist. Raised on the North Shore of Oahu, Eli grew up in one of the most respected surf zones in the world. After earning his stripes at heavy spots like Pipeline and Backdoor, he channeled that same determination and grit to achieve a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
‘We first met Eli through our longtime friend and melin Fam Mark Healey. When someone we trust speaks that highly about someone else, it holds weight,’ said Brian McDonell, co-Founder and President of melin. ‘We put an emphasis on aligning with the world’s best humans, people that go above their accomplishments and Eli is a perfect example of that.
