Skatepark of Tampa (SPoT) proudly announces a new partnership agreement with energy drink leader Monster Energy. The three-year partnership boosts the Skatepark of Tampa’s global footprint and reinforces Monster’s commitment to authenticity in skateboarding. The partnership kicks off at Tampa Pro this weekend [February 28 – March 1] and runs through Tampa Am 2022.
As host to the most defining contests for both amateur and professional skateboarders, SPoT has consistently been an unrivaled destination since opening in 1993. Tampa Pro and Tampa Am are historically skateboarding’s most respected events and are widely embraced by the skateboarding community. Many of today’s skateboarding greats have claimed the podium at SPoT events, including Paul Rodriguez, Luan Oliveira, Torey Pudwill, Bastien Salabanzi, and the reigning World Champion Nyjah Huston. With today’s announcement, the SPoT legacy will be stronger than ever thanks to Monster’s brand presence at the events along with the majority of Monster’s skate team.
Every year going back to 1995, skateboarding turns its collective attention to the Am and Pro events. Each contest is livestreamed over the course of two days and viewed by hundreds of thousands of skaters around the world. In the Summer months the SPoT team takes the events on the road via its Damn Am series. The 2020 schedule includes stops in Japan, Barcelona, Los Angeles, New York City and more.
