With El Niño rapidly approaching, Southern California’s closest winter resort is preparing for another record season with more than one million dollars in resort improvements. Expected to be the first resort to open in Southern California this season, Mountain High has invested in increased snowmaking, new snow cats and a new fleet of rental equipment for guests.

Already boasting one of the largest snowmaking systems in the region, Mountain High committed another $500 thousand towards state-of-the-art low energy air/water guns as well as additional focus on snow making capabilities at the East resort. The additional investment in snowmaking will ensure both its East and West resorts are open as soon and as long as possible.

Another key improvement for guests, Mountain High will partner with Rossignol to create the Rossignol Experience Center, a performance-oriented rental center with state-of-the-art equipment. This includes more than $100 thousand of new skis and snowboards available to rent at Mountain High and full-service instruction. In addition, the new Repair Center at West Resort is stocked with $50 thousand in new tuning equipment to keep everything in prime condition.

Guests will also benefit from the remodeled Foggy Goggle bar, with new look, furniture and amenities, as well as two top-of-the-line Prinoth Bison X Stage 5 Snowcats to keep the mountain looking perfect every day.

A member of the Powder Alliance, Mountain High is now partnered with 22 resorts across three countries. This year the Powder Alliance added Mt Shasta in California, and Ski Cooper, its second Colorado resort.
