OTIS Eyewear has teamed up with skateboarding legend Jamie Thomas on a totally original sunglasses frame. Called The Outsider, it blends contrasting colors and raw finishing techniques for something that pushes beyond the norm. It’s part of Jamie’s relentless pursuit for the perfect line in everything he does.
“After working on color & style collaborations with OTIS for the past few years, it has been an amazing experience to design a signature frame,” says Jamie Thomas of the release. “I believe the complimentary partnership definitely elevated the project & I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.”
The Outsider draws inspiration from vintage frames, while adding bow tie temple pins as a nod to the classic fashion of the 60s. An unpolished finish on the nose bridge then brings out the personality of Jamie’s skate culture – raw and unrefined. The frame comes in two different sizes, offering a tailored fit in the hero dual tone color or matte tortoise shell, plus a larger version in classic black and tortoise too. Every piece is made with optically correct, scratch-resistant mineral glass lenses, offering the clarity and focus Jamie demands of himself.
To complement the release, there is also a ultra limited edition skateboard from OTIS and Jamie’s brand Zero. The decks feature collaboration logos and are all hand painted/signed by Thomas.
