Patagonia is proud to announce the new PowSlayer Freeride Kit – launched this week after nearly a decade of cutting-edge design and athlete-led testing. Patagonia didn’t just perfect their legendary PowSlayer series, they created an entire layering system designed specifically for the needs of big-mountain freeriding, from pre-dawn skintracks to the deepest and steepest descents.

The revolutionary PowSlayer Freeride Kit is a fully integrated snow layering system born from nearly a decade of athlete-led design and backcountry testing. Developed at The Forge – Patagonia’s advanced R&D facility in Ventura, CA – this is where the brand’s most innovative products are brought to life. The kit includes:

The Skintrack

The Transition

The Descent

And for Baselayers:

Patagonia’s snow gear is designed and relentlessly tested for the deepest days, toughest Skintracks, and stormiest conditions – built with environmental impact-reducing materials to protect Winter the best we can. The design highlights of the PowSlayer Freeride Kit include:

  • 3-Layer GORE-TEX ePE Pro Fabric: The most durable, breathable and lightweight storm protection, made without intentionally added PFAS
  • Expandable Chest Pockets: Bellowed design expands to fit larger items like skins, without adding weight or bulk
  • Low-Profile Powder Skirt: Seals out wind and snow and lies flat when not in use
  • Hidden Stretch Panels: Fixed hood with hidden stretch panels can be pulled over a helmet when collar is fully zipped
  • Stormproof Hood: High collar and laminated visor for full protection and visibility in even the stormiest conditions
  • Integrated Layering System: Designed to pair with the Nano-Air Ultralight Freeride Jacket, DAS Light Hoody and PowSlayer Pack
