Raw Elements USA®, a pioneering organic and non-GMO sunscreen brand, is expanding its partnership with the Town of Narragansett to provide complimentary, safe, and effective sunscreen at Narragansett Town Beach and its four public parks this summer.
Starting on Friday, June 22, the touch-free dispensers, filled with Raw Elements’ safe for all ages SPF 30+ sunscreen, will be available for free at the six entry points of the beach as well as its four public parks (Sprague Park, Domenic Christofaro Park, George “C” Park and Eastward Look Park).
Additionally, on Friday, July 6, Raw Elements, the Town of Narragansett, and the Rhode Island Department of Health will be hosting a Sun Safety Day. From 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the South Pavilion, beach-goers can receive free skin cancer screenings and learn more about sun safety.
Narragansett Town Beach is where the concept for Raw Elements was conceived as founder Brian Guadagno is the Senior Lifeguard Captain there and has put in 24 years of lifeguard service.
“Being able to partner with the Town of Narragansett to provide free Raw Elements sunscreen to beach-goers feels like we’ve come full circle,” says Guadagno. “We’re hoping to help people enjoy the town without having to worry about what’s in their sunscreen.”
Last year, the 11-week campaign, a first of its kind in Rhode Island, saw approximately 12,500 uses of sunscreen.
“The 2017 sunscreen initiative at Narragansett Town Beach offered a positive, complimentary, all-natural safe sun- screen benefit to our patrons and employees at our beach and enabled us to provide valuable safe sun protection information to our beach patrons,” said Steve Wright, Director of Parks and Recreation. “The program created a real case study for future expansion into our local parks and for the State of Rhode Island. This program was re- ceived favorable by all of our patrons, sponsors and Town Council, which is why we are excited to introduce it to our parks this summer.”
