Kicking off the “giving season” and in keeping with Rossignol’s many recent social and environmental commitments, the 115-year-old legacy brand is eager to announce its new One-for-One giveback program for the 2022-23 winter season.
The program was launched on Tuesday, November 29th 2022, otherwise known as “Giving Tuesday,” where for each pair of skis sold online at Rossignol.com, the brand will donate a pair of refurbished skis to charitable organizations and amateur sports federations in developing countries. The One-for-One program aims to not only extend the product lifecycle of used Rossignol alpine skis but to also support charitable organizations and sports federations dedicated to providing underserved communities with the resources and access to experience the joys of skiing and riding for themselves.
“We’re very excited to announce this new program as it is a clear extension of our greater brand aspirations, both in terms of opening the mountains up to new generations and demographics of skiers and riders, but also being better stewards of our environment,” said Gabriel Authier, Chief Marketing Officer, Rossignol Group.
Each year, Rossignol receives thousands of used, but still skiable, skis back into its distribution and service centers through various regional partnerships as well as its global after-sales and service programs. The opportunity to lengthen the product life cycle of these skis while further expanding opportunities and access to skiing is in lockstep with the broader social and environmental ambitions the Rossignol Group has established via their RESPECT program.
The brand’s commitment to refurbishing and validating the integrity of each ski and binding system before they go back into circulation will require both human and financial investments at its ski manufacturing facilities.
“Today, our brand and business ambitions are all viewed through the lens of our RESPECT program,” added Authier. “The resulting passion and creativity we’ve tapped into is truly inspiring and is also allowing us to realize just how many opportunities we have to make an impact and keep pushing these important topics forward.”
