Salomon has unveiled a new limited-edition trail running collection in collaboration with ultra-running icon Courtney Dauwalter. The launch expands on their successful partnership, which began with the now-iconic “Shortney” trail shorts and has grown into a bold line of performance-driven apparel, footwear, and accessories.

“Growing up, I always preferred long shorts because I was more comfortable in them,” shares Dauwalter. “Comfort is key, and I know there will be many people who are thrilled to have a lightweight, long-inseam option to run in.”

Inspired by Courtney’s unmistakable energy, laid-back style, and passion for comfort, the new collection includes:

  • S/LAB Genesis Limited Courtney Edition – a durable, high-performance trail shoe built for long distances.
  • Sense Pro 6 Limited Courtney Edition – a minimalist hydration vest with a bounce-free fit.
  • Shortney 8″ Limited Courtney Edition – lightweight long shorts featuring four-way stretch fabric and built-in storage.
  • Sense Aero Tee Limited Courtney Edition – breathable and chafe-free with advanced temperature-regulating technology.

Designed together with Salomon’s Annecy-based team, the products feature bold graphics and Courtney’s signature peace sign motif, a symbol of belief and inner strength drawn from her personal racing journey.

“Before my first 100-mile finish, my mom gave me a peace sign coin with the message, ‘You’re stronger than you think,’” she recalls. “I carried that coin through the race, and it became a symbol of belief that I still carry with me today. We turned that peace sign into my initials and placed the quote on every Shortney piece as a reminder that belief—even a sprinkle of it—can get us through the toughest moments.”

The collection’s “Reality to Dream” design theme was born from conversations between Courtney and Salomon’s design team about the mental and physical spaces athletes inhabit during grueling races.

“When you’re in the Pain Cave—pushing past your limits—you’re surrounded by nature, but also totally focused. It’s part grit, part hallucination. These designs celebrate that journey. A visit to the Pain Cave is always a reason to celebrate!”

One of the most accomplished ultra-runners in history, Courtney Dauwalter continues to push the boundaries of endurance sport. In 2023, she became the first athlete to win Western States 100, Hardrock 100, and UTMB® in the same year. In 2024, she continued her impressive streak with top finishes and women’s titles at Mount Fuji, Hardrock, and the Ultra Trail Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur.
