It was a successful Santa Sunday at Mountain High on December 15th, with 181 Santa-suited snowboarders and skiers hitting the slopes for a good cause. In its 4th year, Santa Sunday boasted more participants than ever before, resulting in more than $3,600 raised for Protect Our Winters, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that turns passionate outdoor people into effective climate advocates.
On Sunday, guests dressed in Santa Claus suits gave a minimum $20 donation to POW and received a full-day lift ticket to Mountain High in exchange. Following a photo op, the Santas boarded the Snowflake chairlift and rode down the Easy Street trail together, making for a festive red-and-white scene. See more photos from the event here.
Protect Our Winters (POW) leads a community of athletes, thought pioneers and forward-thinking business leaders to affect systemic solutions to climate change. POW works creatively and opportunistically and focuses on three main areas: youth education, advocacy and community-based activism.
