Sea Of Seven announced their latest collaboration with world-famous surfboard shaper Xanadu Surf Designs.
What began as a working relationship in the 1990s has evolved into a strong friendship based on a mutual appreciation of the vanguard surf lifestyle, art, and photography.
“I was very pleased with the work we created during our launch of the Black & White Collection. This time around, I wanted to do something very different. I chose this image as it’s one of the most powerful I’ve ever taken of Xanadu. I am very proud of it. It was my idea to split the image in half, one side showing the positive, the other showing negative and in doing so titling it Think Positive, explained Sea Of Seven founder Jack English.
As one of the world’s best surfboard shapers, Xanadu’s passion for design and style has led to the creation of a well-regarded board company. All of which has allowed him to assemble an impressive list of riders past and present, including Brad Gerlach, Hans Hagen, Brian Conley, Donavon Frankenreiter, Nathan Webster, Jason “Ratboy” Collins, Nate Acker, Cory and Shea Lopez, Lisa Andersen, and many more.
“I think the surfing world has treated Xanadu much like a black sheep. I don’t think that’s entirely fair. He might be misunderstood—but maybe he likes it that way.”
