Carlos Munoz, one of the most recognized professional surfers representing Costa Rica has joined and headlines the PSYCHO TUNA surf team.
Carlos Munoz is one of the few athletes to nab a concrete sponsorship amidst a very unpredictable financial climate for professional surfers.
Carlos states, “I’m super happy and grateful to be part of the Psycho Tuna family. I have been without a main sponsor for quite some time. I had some offers from other brands but Psycho Tuna (from the owner to manager and crew) has made me feel like family, and that’s something really hard to find now-a-days in the industry of surfing. In 2021 Carlos Munoz became the very first Costa Rican to qualify for the World Surf League Championship Tour (2022 Season). Due to injury at the opening event at Pipeline in Hawaii, he had to bow out abruptly for the rest of the season. This 2023 WCT season he is the first injury wildcard replacement and has thus far surfed the first 4 events.
