Surfline Sessions, the revolutionary product allowing surfers to receive video footage of their rides from over 500 Surfline surf cams around the world, is pleased to recognize the popular iOS app Dawn Patrol as its first Compatible Partner. Dawn Patrol played a critical role in testing Sessions’ clip-generation capabilities when the product was in beta mode earlier this year. Dawn Patrol counts a surfer’s waves, determines the distance surfed per wave, measures top speed, tracks total water time, and logs personal records.
Here’s how it works: A surfer with an Apple Watch heads to the beach and presses start on their watch in the Dawn Patrol app. After surfing for as long as they wish in front of any Surfline camera, the Surfline/Dawn Patrol partnership creates not only a record of each wave ridden via Dawn Patrol, but also video clips of each ride through the Surfline app.
“As a keen surfer and app developer who attempted to surf as often as possible, I started to have ideas about how to make the experience last longer,” says Anton Bremer, Dawn Patrol CEO. “My idea was that I could take the waves home with me and continually evaluate them and see what, where or how I could improve.”
