SwimOutlet.com is pleased to announce the relaunch of Sporti, their top performance, private-label swimwear line, alongside a series of design collaborations featuring top athletes, industry tastemakers, artists and influencers, all aligned with a mission to give-back.
Joining forces with influencer Stef Corgel, artists Tyler Wallach, aLILscribble, Mat Chavez, Damian Orellana and She Is This, Olympians Emma Weyant and Alex Walsh, and elite swimmers Gretchen Walsh and Shaine Casas, Sporti debuted the first of these limited-edition collaborations on June 1st, with the second launching today.
As part of the relaunch, Sporti will unveil a refreshed aesthetic and messaging, recommitting itself to the brand’s key pillars: community, diversity, accessibility, approachability, sustainability and ultimately, fun.
With equality and inclusivity at the forefront, the Sporti team hand-selected each collaboration partner, working closely with each throughout the design process to ensure the resulting collections were as functional as they were inspirational.
“This will be the first time Sporti is venturing into the world of collaboration, so it was imperative we found partners that shared our brand values,” said Winnie So, President of Sporti. “Each partner was involved in every step of the design process – from inspiration, to color choice, to silhouette selection, ensuring the resulting collection conveyed the message they wanted to share with the world.”
The first collaboration, the Stef Corgel x Sporti Collection debuted June 1st, featuring beach-worthy prints named after iconic SoCal destinations, paying homage to Corgel’s Southern California roots. Signature staples, like the Playa Textured Bikini and Manhattan Beach Zip Front One Piece, are rendered in buttery soft fabrics that support and hug the body in just the right places, designed with unique feminine touches to wear under the sun in style. From full coverage one-pieces to strappy two-piece silhouettes, the Sporti x Stef Corgel Collection is full of versatile essentials that can be worn as comfortably as a second skin, made to take you from a morning ocean swim to dinner and drinks, and everything in between.
“Designing a functional yet feminine collection was key for me, creating styles that fit a range of body types and that also support an active lifestyle. The Sporti team’s warmth and community-oriented spirit, paired with their passion and enthusiasm for all things swim, made them the perfect partner to design this collection,” said Corgel.
The second collaboration and the debut Artist Series partnership, the Sporti x Tyler Wallach Collection features a selection of swimwear and accessories for ‘LGBTQ+ swimmers and allies alike,’ transforms Tyler’s colorful creations into material works for art, resulting in a collection fit for the entire swim community.
Touting his ‘individuality as his biggest asset,’ Tyler is the self described “1988 love child of Keith Haring and Lisa Frank.” His whimsical, vibrant characters are brilliant nods to the exuberance of gay pride and evocative of one’s freedom to express themselves, in and beyond the lane.
Fittingly so, the Sporti x Tyler Wallach Collection is unapologetically bold. Designed with watercolor in mind, the collection’s designs evoke that moment when the light catches the water, fragmented into a kaleidoscope that encapsulates all the colors of the rainbow.
“I’m so thrilled about this collaboration with Sporti and all that it stands for! While so many brands just throw a rainbow on something, we really took true design into consideration to illustrate our message of inclusion & diversity, and created something loud, bright and exciting!” said Tyler.
As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Tyler’s compassion and care for at-risk queer youth and anti-bullying efforts remains a driving force of inspiration, and he hopes that this collection inspires those who see it to be their most authentic self.
The Sporti x Tyler Wallach Collection is proud to support and donate a portion of proceeds to the It Gets Better Project, a nonprofit organization with a mission to uplift, empower, and connect LGBTQ+ youth around the globe.
Upcoming collaborations will be launched throughout the remainder of 2022 and into 2023, with a special highlight on the partnerships with Gretchen Walsh, Alex Walsh and Emma Weyant, now possible under the NCAA’s recent NIL ruling, allowing college athletes to monetize their name, image and likeness.
