(NYSE: BKE) announced today that comparable store net sales, for stores open at least one year, for the 4-week period ended August 31, 2019 increased 3.1 percent from comparable store net sales for the 4-week period ended September 1, 2018. Net sales for the 4-week fiscal month ended August 31, 2019 increased 2.6 percent to $77.2 million from net sales of $75.2 million for the prior year 4-week fiscal month ended September 1, 2018.
Comparable store net sales year-to-date for the 30-week period ended August 31, 2019 increased 0.7 percent from comparable store net sales for the 30-week period ended September 1, 2018. Net sales for the 30-week fiscal period ended August 31, 2019 increased 0.2 percent to $482.3 million from net sales of $481.2 million for the prior year 30-week fiscal period ended September 1, 2018.
