(NYSE: BKE) announced today that comparable store net sales, for stores open at least one year, for the 5-week period ended January 1, 2022 increased 17.7 percent from comparable store net sales for the 5-week period ended January 2, 2021. Net sales for the 5-week fiscal month ended January 1, 2022 increased 17.3 percent to $198.7 million from net sales of $169.4 million for the prior year 5-week fiscal month ended January 2, 2021.
Comparable store net sales year-to-date for the 48-week period ended January 1, 2022 increased 46.7 percent from comparable store net sales for the 48-week period ended January 2, 2021. Net sales for the 48-week fiscal period ended January 1, 2022 increased 46.7 percent to $1.230 billion from net sales of $838.2 million for the prior year 48-week fiscal period ended January 2, 2021.
