Thrills and Hard Yakka Unveil Third Collaboration Collection

The exclusive third collection, featuring 21 apparel pieces, will be available online and in-stores from Oct. 3.

Two of Australia’s most iconic brands, Thrills and Hard Yakka, are back with their highly anticipated third collaboration collection, set to be their biggest yet. This collection builds upon the resounding success of their previous partnerships, seamlessly merging workwear and contemporary fashion. 

Kathryn Dawson-Lee, Hard Yakka’s Brand & Content Manager, expressed the astounding success of their first and second collaborations, which opened doors to a new audience. “The first two collaborations with Thrills were tremendous successes,” she stated. “They seamlessly merged the Hard Yakka aesthetic with fashion-forward elements, reinvigorating the brand and capturing a new generation of fans. It affirmed that our near century-old legacy could resonate with younger audiences when paired with the right partner.” 

“We always believed in the strength and synergy of our collaboration with Thrills, given our shared vision and strong Australian roots,” Dawson-Lee added. “However, the extent of its success and its appeal to a younger demographic exceeded our expectations. We witnessed a significant surge in online traffic across paid and owned channels, with a remarkable 33% increase during the drop 2 campaign compared to drop 1, solidifying the collaboration’s success.” 

Steve Fontes, Thrills Designer, teased that the upcoming collaboration would be even more impressive, eagerly awaited by die-hard fans of both brands. “The upcoming collection promises an innovative blend of classic Thrills designs with the vintage hues of Hard Yakka,” Fontes explained. “We’ve retained what customers loved in the first two drops and infused fresh ideas and inspirations. It’s a fusion of the past and present, offering customers something nostalgic yet entirely new.” 

Fontes further detailed the collection, mentioning its “’Postal Brown’ palette, leaf camo highlights, and graphic embroideries, paying homage to the late 90s”. He also emphasized “With Hard Yakka being a trusted name among Australian families for nearly a century and Thrills a must-wear brand for streetwear lovers, we have both honed in on our craft to create more sustainable, durable products that withstand the rigours of the Australian environment.” 

Hard Yakka and Thrills’ exclusive third collection, featuring 21 apparel pieces, will be available online and in-stores from October 3, 2023.
