The adventure-inspired range of Lifestyle and Surf products include two new MTE™-2 products, the UltraRange™ EXO Hi MTE™-2 and Sk8-Hi MTE™-2 as well as Vans’ all-new Coastal Colfax MTE™-1 Boot and MTE™-1 Jacket.
From peak fashion to peak function, Vans’ MTE-2 feature set is designed to protect from the elements while staying stylish and practical to keep warm, dry, and exploring. There’s a duality that exists in the cold: a feeling that is inescapable whether braving urban iciness or mountain chills. The UltraRange EXO Hi MTE-2 and Sk8-Hi MTE-2 products are built for those unexpected journeys.
The new MTE-2 product offering delivers strong on MTE’s promises of Moisture Management, Thermoregulation, and Traction in cold and wet environments. Available in a Taos Taupe colorway, the UltraRange EXO Hi MTE-2 features a HydroGuard® 360 waterproof package, a PrimaLoft cold weather thermal package, and features All-Trac™ all-terrain rubber compound on the outsole that delivers true all-terrain grip, significantly aiding in overall traction and upgrading all MTE-2 styles. From wet or dry city streets, to the unpredictability of unpaved roads, All-Trac delivers a new level of footwear focused on adventure.
The new Sk8-Hi MTE-2 packs over 25 years of Vans snowboard boot history and technology into a timeless, trusted style. The Sk8-Hi MTE-2 in Retro Block takes inspiration from vintage windbreakers and ‘90s campground aesthetic. The assortment rounds out with a Sk8-Hi MTE-2 in Glitter Black which includes an all-over black glitter sidewall execution, paying homage to the explorative nature of space and the galaxy.
The durable water repellent-treated leather uppers and graphic details bring an iconic Vans aesthetic to this uncompromising cold weather Sk8-Hi MTE-2 silhouette. Made to advance the levels of day-to-day versatility, the new shoe also features premium performance materials and MTE technology, including All-Trac, HydroGuard 360 waterproof package, and PrimaLoft. The new Sk8-Hi MTE-2 includes comfort-enhancing single-density, molded sockliner, and an OrthoLite™ topsheet.
The Coastal MTE collection was designed to better address the needs of the cold-water surfer and features the Colfax MTE-1 Boot built to help keep feet warm and dry while trekking to the most off-the-grid coastal surf spots. The collection also includes an MTE-1 Jacket and an assortment of apparel designed to be layered for early morning surf sessions.
Intended to keep warmth in and moisture out, the Colfax MTE-1 Boot features all the elements of Vans’ all-weather product: a water resistant upper for breathable moisture management protection, a lugged tread pattern outsole, a PrimaLoft cold weather thermal package, and single-density UltraCush molded EVA footbed for superior comfort and function.
The Coastal MTE-1 Jacket utilizes a waterproof, breathable shell fabric with ThermoBall™ insulation, a synthetic fill technology developed by The North Face made from small, round fiber clusters that mimic down insulation by trapping heat within tiny air pockets for increased warmth. The storm flap at the front of the jacket, reverse pocket entry with zip closures, and adjustable cuffs keeps comfort top of mind, even in the depths of winter.
