• 2015 was a record year for Apparel, Accessories and Footwear (“AAF”) M&A activity, finishing 9.8% above the 2014 record.
• Despite increasing consumer confidence, soft goods continue to stumble as consumer spending shifts toward services, travel, experiences and improvements.
• AAF public company valuations on an EV/EBITDA basis have decreased approximately 12% from its high reached in July 2015.
• The National Retail Federation believes the strong labor market and U.S. economy will help retail sales increase 3.1% in 2016, above the 10-year average of 2.7%.
