OIA: The Whole Truth of Upcycled Apparel and Gear

REPREVE could put a dent in the world's voracious plastic consumption

In a recent article by Kassandra Cloos entitled “The Whole Truth of Upcycled Apparel and Gear,” OIA details the fate of the vast quantities of plastic bottles the world uses every year. 

With recycling percentages for plastic bottles are still hovering around 30 percent, Cloos explains the potential of products like REPREVE, an upcycled polyester fabric  made from clear plastic bottles and their lids.  

REPREVE is currently used by a wide variety of apparel and gear brands, including Polartec, Patagonia, Cotopaxi, prAna, Teva, The North Face, BUFF, and Canada Goose, plus “fast fashion” companies like H&M.
