Surf Expo, the largest and longest running boardsports and beach/resort lifestyle tradeshow in the world, is pleased to announce Rod Tomlinson as Sales Manager for the Surf Category of the show. He is replacing Ryan Nettleton.
Tomlinson is an avid surfer with more than 20 years of experience in the surf industry. He brings an ideal perspective and skillset to Surf Expo, having worked in retail, marketing and sales in both manufacturing and tradeshow sectors for companies such as Fox Head, Rhythm, Firewire Surfboards and Rip Curl.
Tomlinson was most recently a sales executive for Interbike, the largest bicycle trade event in North America, also owned and operated by Emerald Expositions.
“Surf Expo is excited to bring Rod Tomlinson to our sales team,” said Roy Turner, Surf Expo VP and Show Director. “Rod’s background in sales combined with his knowledge and passion for surf makes him the perfect fit. Rod will be working out of our San Juan Capistrano office, close to many of our Surf category clients,” added Turner.
Tomlinson commented, “Water is part of Surf Expo’s DNA and unique to all other trade shows. Nothing else has the authenticity or audience of Surf Expo in this space. I’m a lifelong surfer, and I’ve built my life around the ocean. Surf Expo has always been my favorite show, as it is among my peers both exhibitor and retailer alike. It’s my goal to celebrate the waterborne DNA of the Surf Expo show and offer my support to brands and retailers who share this bond”.
