San Diego Sport Innovators (SDSI), the non-profit business development organization for the Sports and Active Lifestyle Industry (SAL) led by NBA Great Bill Walton, is now accepting applications to its acclaimed business accelerator program SDSI Springboard, sponsored by K2 Insurance Services.
“SDSI Springboard is as valuable of a contribution as you can ever do for your business”, says Bill Walton, SDSI Executive Chairman.
“SDSI Springboard has a proven track record of being the launch pad to incalculable success and the mentors on our team have the ability to shine the light, be that beacon of hope, and give us all a reason to believe tomorrow will be better. Springboard is the perfect word for what we try to do in our lives– bend your knees, take a big deep breath and go for it all!!! Don’t wait around for someone to throw you in the pool – take control, launch yourself into the great game of life and business”
SDSI Springboard is dedicated to fostering the next generation of SAL businesses through its intensive, 20-week, mentor-led business curriculum that puts growing companies on a path towards success.
The program is open to founders and CEO’s of SAL companies of all sizes who are working through significant milestones such as; starting a new business, shifting their business model, preparing to raise capital or working through a significant growth phase. Space is limited to a maximum of seven companies per class.
SDSI Springboard graduates have an amazing record: 61 companies have graduated since 2009, have raised $47.5 million dollars in funding and have created 350 jobs. 89% of graduates are still in business.
Accepted companies are paired with some of the best CEOs, finance experts and marketing experts from Southern California’s SAL industry. These mentors volunteer their time and insights to help entrepreneurs refine their business plans and become better positioned for sustainability and scalability.
“SDSI Springboard catapulted our companies fundraising efforts by providing us with world-class, highly relevant mentors I never imaged I’d have the chance to spend time with,” said 2016 SDSI Springboard Graduate Ben Acott, founder of PODLife.
“We finished so much further down the track with solid strategic and local investors in sight, along with great long-term partnerships and friendships. I loved every minute of the program.”
There is no cost to apply but upon acceptance SDSI Membership is required. Apply through February 13 at https://www.sdsportinnovators.org/the-springboard-program/.
