Artist, photographer, filmmaker and creator of SURFER magazine, John Severson, will be signing copies of his new book, entitled Surf, at Surfing Heritage and Culture Center (SHACC) on Thursday, September 25, from 6-9pm. The evening will showcase Severson’s personal odyssey through painting, photography, film and publishing.

Surf recalls the birth of surf culture and serves as a testament to our devotion to the ocean. The book is 212 pages long and features over 300 illustrations, plus a foreword by Gerry Lopez, and an afterword by Drew Kampion, author and former editor of Surfer and Surfing magazines.

SHACC will be displaying some of Severson’s artwork, including paintings, photo blow-ups and surf posters, which will be available for purchase. No host Primo Beer and Longboard Vineyards Wine will be available along with appetizers from Wahoo’s, plus raffle tickets for a chance to win a custom handplane, courtesy of Enjoy Handplanes. Admission is free for SHACC Members and $5 for non-members.
