One last event will be held to benefit Stokes Me during the sixth annual Battle of the Paddle, to be held September 28-29. Salt Life will welcome artist Trevor Mezak to their exhibitor booth where he will replicate one of his own paintings by using coffee and wine. The unique coffee and wine artwork will be auctioned off in a raffle with all proceeds to benefit the SIMA Humanitarian Fund’s campaign, Stokes Me.
Mezak, who is currently partnering with Collector’s Editions and Disney Fine Art, is an artist who draws much of his inspiration from his traveling experiences around the world, especially his surf trips. This will be his second piece to benefit Stokes Me, the first was a collaboration surfboard that shaper Jed Noll shaped and Mezak painted on that went from $4,600.
The artist will be at the Salt Life booth on Saturday from 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM painting. During this time, raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to take home the unique artwork. A winner will be picked directly following the completion of the art piece, at 3:00 PM. All proceeds from the raffle with directly benefit Stokes Me.
Additionally, Salt Life will also be holding an Instagram competition with the winner receiving a Hobie Inflatable 11’6” SUP with a paddle, a retail value of $1,800. The winner will also win a two-hour surf/paddle session with three time ASP Longboard World Champion, Colin McPhillips and his two oldest sons. To enter the competition, visitors can stop by the Salt Life booth during The Battle of the Paddle to buy a Stokes Me sticker. Those competing in the contest will then be asked to put the sticker on a car, boat or board and post a photo of the placement on Instagram, tagging Salt Life (@saltlife_co), Stokes Me (@Stokes_Me) and using the appropriate hashtag (#BattleofthePaddleStokesMe). The most original photo entry will be chosen as the winner just before The Battle of the Paddle Finals Race on Sunday, September 29. All funds raised through selling the Stokes Me stickers will also go straight to Stokes Me.
Stokes Me is the official fundraiser for the SIMA Humanitarian Fund. The funds raised support 11 surf-related humanitarian organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life, health and/or welfare of people.
