The Surfrider Foundation is proud to announce it has teamed up with Volkswagen’s Think Blue. initiative. Together, Surfrider Foundation and Volkswagen of America, Inc. will encourage individuals across the country to make positive changes in their lives to ensure our nation’s oceans, waves, beaches and waterways are clean and healthy for future generations to come.
Surfrider Foundation and Volkswagen share the goal of encouraging more eco-conscious behavior and raising awareness on the simple actions people can take to help ensure Surfrider Foundation’s vision of healthy coasts and contribute to a sustainable future. The Think Blue. initiative is practiced by Volkswagen worldwide with unique partnerships for each country, and is part of Volkswagen’s goal to become the leading eco-conscious car brand worldwide, through a commitment to making efficient and sustainable mobility accessible to everyone.
“For Volkswagen, sustainability is a fundamental part of our brand, and we are committed to not only reducing our own environmental footprint through more fuel efficient vehicles and environmentally friendly operations, but also encouraging consumers to do so,” said Kevin Mayer, vice president marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “We look forward to joining the Surfrider Foundation in its mission to educate the public about environmental issues that affect our nation’s coastline.”
As part of their support of the Surfrider Foundation’s clean water initiatives, Volkswagen of America, Inc. is contributing more than $100,000 to the organization to fund ongoing efforts to protect the water quality of our nation’s coastlines and watersheds.
“We are thrilled to team up with Volkswagen and have their generous support,” says Laura Lee Surfrider Foundation’s Director of Marketing & Communications. “Think Blue. embodies Surfrider Foundation’s mission through empowering individuals to take simple actions in a fun, engaging way that add up to make a big difference.”
