As individual businesses, we each face unique concerns and obstacles. As an industry, we face one common issue that threatens our continued success as a whole: ocean pollution. Poor water quality, watershed runoff, and irresponsible coastal development are negative trends that threaten the entire surf industry. For every week that a beach is closed due to unsafe bacteria levels, for every surf break that is destroyed by development, for every child that doesn’t have beach access, surf industry companies see a direct correlation in lost sales. For many of us, these trends affect not only our work, but also our play. It is incumbent upon every surf company to support this ongoing effort to ensure that our ocean playground remains healthy and accessible for our customers and ourselves.
With so many worthwhile causes seeking support, it’s often difficult to assess where your company’s donation can make the greatest impact. On August 14-15, 2015, the SIMA Environmental Fund will host the 26th annual Waterman’s Weekend fundraiser. Over the past 25 years, the SIMA Environmental Fund has raised nearly $7 million for 18 organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving our oceans, beaches and surf breaks. By sponsoring and attending the Waterman’s Weekend you can be assured that your contribution will go toward solving specific ocean-related environmental issues and thereby help ensure that the surf industry and your business continue to thrive.
This effort is as important as ever and the SIMA Environmental Fund needs your help. Here is how you can get involved:
Waterman’s Ball Sponsor
Deadline: June 9
With three sponsorship levels available starting at $8,500, the Waterman’s Ball sponsorship packages offer a number of valuable benefits such as full tables of 10, program ads, and hotel rooms during the event. Your company will also be recognized as a major donor to more than 650 Waterman’s Ball attendees which include surf industry executives, Southern California business leaders, and friends of the environment.
Each paid SIMA member company will have the ability to purchase two tickets. SIMA cannot guarantee that additional individual tickets will be available. The best way to secure more than two allotted tickets or a full table of 10 is to purchase a sponsorship package.

Waterman’s Ball Event Program Tribute Pages

The event program for the Waterman’s Ball will be a beautifully printed color piece celebrating the evening’s honorees and beneficiaries. The program will be distributed to the 650 Waterman’s Ball guests.

More than 150 surf industry executives and professional surfers will tee it up at the 15th Annual Waterman’s Classic Golf Tournament. The Waterman’s Classic has become a must-play tournament and a fun and memorable way to kick off the surf industry’s annual Waterman’s Weekend fundraising event. Enjoy a day on the links with outrageous on-course entertainment and contests, and pump up the friendly competition by vying for Best Dressed Foursome or Best Hole Activity – all while knowing your sponsorship and participation contributes to the vital efforts to protect and preserve our oceans, beaches and surf breaks.
