The landmark California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) that will take effect January 1, 2020, extends extensive new rights to consumers regarding access to, deletion of, and sharing of personal information collected by businesses. Recently the California Attorney General (AG) issued long-awaited regulations.

Three members of Procopio’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice group have published analyses of the proposed regulations and what they mean for companies doing business with California consumers. The California Attorney General’s proposed CCPA regulations impose a number of new requirements not contained within the CCPA as passed by the state legislature and signed into law.
