Women Making Waves Exhibit at SHACC Opens Saturday, June 2
In conjunction with our Gala, our next exhibit will focus on the four women being honored, and many more. The official opening date for the SHACC display of “Women Making Waves” is Saturday, June 2, from 6-9 PM.
If you or someone you know is a female surfer of note and would like to be be considered for inclusion in this exhibit, please send us a hi-res photo/s and a bullet point list of accomplishments and we will review it and determine whether it belongs in the exhibit here at SHACC. The size of the photos displayed will be determined by the number of participants we select, please send them digitally ASAP to barry@surfingheritage.org. Thank you!
Ohana Gala Honoring Women Making Waves, Friday, June 22
The Ohana Gala presented by SHACC will be honoring Women who changed the world through surfing. The event includes an intimate dinner, entertainment and awards ceremony – only 200 seats are available. This year we are honoring Joyce Hoffman, Lisa Andersen, and Stephanie Gilmore. SHACC’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Jan Sunn-Carreira on behalf of her mother, Rell Sunn.
