I hope you are enjoying the start of summer!
Here at SIA, we are gearing up for the coming season, laying out the programs and services that we will be providing to our members. We are excited to share them with you in the coming weeks! But in the meantime, I want to tell you about a couple of things that we are working on right now.
Educational Trade Mission to China. For the first time, SIA, in conjunction with the US Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Beijing will lead an educational trade mission to Beijing, China on September 16-19, 2018. This is for US companies looking to learn more about the growing winter sports market in China. In fact, it is estimated that by 2020, the total market size of the winter sports industry in China will reach $87 billion. In order to get an overview of the opportunities that exist, we will be hearing from retailers, distributors and resorts, e-commerce specialists, visiting local winter sports retailers, meeting with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and convening at the US Embassy for a presentation from US Commercial Service of the US Department of Commerce with an overview of the Chinese market and IP issues.
This is an incredible opportunity to learn more about China’s snow sports Industry. I hope you can join us! But spaces are limited and going fast. For more information and to reserve your spot, visit: https://www.snowsports.org/trade-mission/
SIA/WWSRA On Snow Demo. Another big project that we’ve been diligently working on is the 2019 SIA/WWSRA on-snow demo. Because of the new OR+Snow Show dates, we can no longer host the demo on the traditional two days immediately following the show, given that they’re Saturday and Sunday. Rather, we are looking at three potential options and we need your input to make sure the 2019 on-snow demo addresses your needs. I’d appreciate it if you would please take a few moments to complete the following quick seven question survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QTL2FN3
Thanks for your input!
Until next time, enjoy the summer – winter will be here soon enough!
