Within just the past few months everyone (and their parents) is now fully on the AI train, and it’s moving fast!
If the algorithm has found you, then you have probably been served hundreds of AI ads claiming to do incredible things to your business – double your conversion, triple your ROAS, make you hundreds of ads in seconds, and create AI agents – all in an instant.
We all love to increase our productivity and grow our revenue, but is AI really the answer, and if so, which way to go?
We were just as perplexed as you. So we reviewed more than 100 AI tools and hand-picked 10 that we feel confident will give your marketing and e-commerce efforts an edge.
As we looked at each tool, we assessed if it was able to solve a pain point and make the execution of marketing easier, produce and scale a lot of creative quickly with better results, and do it all at a lower cost. A lot to ask, but these are the claims and we wanted to put them to the test.
One thing we found was that (for now) the promises exceeded the delivery: these tools come with complex interfaces, the need for a decent amount of tool training, lots of editing and refining, and the finished work often lacked a sense of realness.
Though we are dealing with all things “artificial,” we had hoped for better. We did find that if you put in the time, many of these tools start to show promise for time and cost saving, but with these caveats.
Below are a few of our favorites, several of which are now embedded with our clients, with great results.
ChatGPT: While this might sound as obvious as saying that water is good for drinking, ChatGPT really is still the gold standard AI chatbot and writing assistant, capable of generating content, brainstorming ideas, and answering complex queries.
We have found that it speeds up ideation, drafts marketing content, automates customer responses, and enhances personalization. While it can make mistakes and does require some tweaking, generally ChatGPT will get you 80% there, or more if you pay for a subscription and leverage different models and custom GPTs for varying tasks.
We’ve been ChatGPT users for the past couple of years and leverage it for many different tasks internally for marketing, content, and saving time overall which has enabled us to utilize the time saved to focus on client strategy work.
Anagram AI: This is a really cool customer service and conversion rate optimization (CRO) tool that answers the product questions a customer might have before making a purchase. It reduces CS staff workload, reduces abandoned carts, reduces returns, and increases conversion rate. A great feature is that as it is utilized more and more, it becomes smarter and more effective. We are currently using Anagram with several clients and found that it easily integrates with Shopify and yields the best results for brands with complex product specs or sizing.
We are also deep in testing with brand voice copy tool Jasper and dynamic ad optimizer Socioh, while closely following what Shopify has going on with their new “Magic” AI tool. We are also testing a range of tools for generating ad templates and video assets that scale marketing creative quickly.
