Vail Resorts Inc. said it’s lowering its guidance for the year, citing the impact of weather on parts of its operations in the East and Tahoe.
The ski resort operator has had to grapple with unseasonably low snowfall at its eastern region resorts. That trend continued following the holidays, with around 50% to 60% of the company’s lifts operational in January.
Snowstorms in Tahoe, in contrast, made it difficult to fully open and operate those facilities.
Net income for Vail Resorts Inc. in fiscal 2023 is projected to be in the range of $282 million to $328 million. That compares to previous net income guidance offered in December of $321 million to $396 million.
The outlook was part of Vail’s update for its second quarter ended Jan. 31. Full details on the quarter’s performance and full-year projections are available on our sister site, The Daily by Outdoor Retailer.
