StyleCon’s Summer Social at South Coast Plaza on Sunday, June 9th brought together a community of fashion and beauty lovers and modern millennials to celebrate empowerment and network building.
The “beauty through wellness” themed event opened with a spontaneous dance routine led by Katelyn Ohashi, UCLA Gymnast and viral sensation, and her mentor, Valerie Kondos Field, UCLA Gymnastics coach. Ohashi confided in the crowd about her early struggle with social media body shaming and how her collaboration with Field established her as a champion.
A discussion of the “Rise of K Beauty” led by Jonni Renfroe of industry leader Beautytap included Karina Cha from CHA, and Lauren Ing, President of SMD Cosmetics. StyleCon host Vivian Nweze conversed about the “Business of Wellness” with founders Lan Belinky of Boscia, Sarah Brooks of Covet PR, Caitlyn Chase of Caviar & Cashmere, and Kiana Cabell of Kopari, and the “Power of Influence” with creators Erika De La Cruz of Passion to Paycheck, Adaleta Advic of Adatude, Ashley Freeborn of Smash + Tess and Kaylyn Slevin, LA Chargers Cheerleader. Southern California’s premier design house, Gatehouse Studio, created the “boho summer” environment for the StyleStage and photo walls.
Guests enjoyed onsite beauty pampering by Fresh and pop up tastings from Suja Juice, Health-Ade Kombucha, My/Mo Mochi, Tosi, Power Crunch, R.E.D.D. Bar, CORE Hydration, Body Armor, Vita Coco and Runa.
