Jim Watson, the Vans Sales Director of Core Apparel, has left the company.
Jim was at Vans for almost 10 years.
I reached out to both Vans and Jim to confirm the news.
While I had seen a memo from another Vans executive that was sent to the sales team that said he had resigned, Jim told SES that he did not.
“There was a lot that led up to it, but I absolutely did not resign,” he said. He indicated lawyers are involved.
I asked Vans for comment and confirmation about his departure, and a spokeswoman emailed SES the following statement.
“I can confirm that Jim is no longer with Vans,” said Laura Doherty, who heads Vans Global Public Relations. “Jim has been a valuable member of the Vans team for almost 10 years and for that everyone is grateful.”
Jim said he wants to continue to work in the industry, which he feels very passionately about.
“I think I have a lot of insight and things I can share in the industry,” he said. “I’ve learned a lot and definitely want to be a part of it.”
