Pacific Northwest based accessory and apparel brand, Spacecraft goes to new heights with new plans to launch a technical Mountain Bike Apparel division. Steeped in the mountains of Cascadia and not far from Mountain Bike meccas like Whistler, Spacecraft has been planning this for quite some time and it could not be a more perfect time.
“We have for the most part always been a mountain based brand” states brand director, Chad Perrin. “Where we are based and live is an active Mountain Bike hub, we are surrounded by it everyday and we spend a lot of time in the saddle these days, perhaps even more than on chair lifts in the winter, so this has been a long time coming. We just had to commit to it, we are fully committed to the Mountain Bike Market” says Perrin.
After years of seeing the iconic Snowcat sticker on cars at Mountain bike trailheads and parks around the Northwest and Rockies, the brand realized it was time to really look at the brand and where it needed to go in terms of evolution. It was at this time the brand realized that its winter fans were spending time on bikes in the Spring and Summer seasons.
“For us it is a natural progression of what and who we are, we are brand that embraces the mountains, activity within the mountains and the cultures that derive from it” explains Perrin. “Our intentions are not to become another “Me Too” brand with vapid logos and graphics and rather bring art and culture into the line” states Perrin. “We want to stand out on the racks in bike stores throughout the world”
Over the coming months Spacecraft will be making more announcements about the new MTB program and partnerships which is planning to deliver into stores globally in Spring 2018.
Spacecraft will still continue to design, develop and produce products for its iconic Fall and Winter lines every year.
