The chase for Roark began out of a desire to tell stories born of adventure and discovery. The discovery of new places, exotic culture, trinkets and self keeps Roark on the road, collecting experience, while striving to create purpose built product with a story.
Roark is the revival of the spontaneous spirit of adventurism and storytelling in the form of a man. He’s the bar-brawling adventurer that disappears into Mexico for six months camping, only to surface in Paris drinking Bordeaux with a diplomat’s daughter. Each season we find Roark in a different part of the world, telling stories of his exploits on social platforms, a printed book and within their product.
This season Roark landed in India and it was pretty insane. The culture is so exotic it’s hard to put in words- the colors, smells, and texture are so intense. While in India, the man with the indigo hands led Roark down a path unique to the garment making process, just outside of Madurai, India. Its here Roark’s Spring 17 “Monsoon Church” collection was born- hand crafted in India, unique indigo batiked pieces can be found throughout the collection. Stance teamed up with Roark to apply this same technique to our socks for the limited Roark x Stance collaboration.
