Patagonia Steps Up Its Campaign to Defend Bears Ears

The interactive film showcases the culture, history and recreational opportunities of the wild landscape.

Published: March 10, 2017 Press Release

Bears Ears means different things to different people. Though unknown to many Americans, this landscape is a sacred home for Native Americans, a world-class rock climbing destination, a wonder for outdoor enthusiasts and a mecca for archaeologists. But it is also a target for elected officials who want to privatize and develop our public lands. It’s imperative that we protect these places that are too special to threaten. Bears Ears is absolutely one of those places.

EXPLORE AND TAKE ACTION

“The world is growing. There are more and more people, more and more demands placed on our world, on our environment. That’s why it’s important to preserve these landscapes. How else will people have these experiences with the natural world?”

—Kitty Calhoun, Climbing Ambassador
